Act 2: The Power of Theatre Post Conflict

15 July 2010

The British Council Switzerland is bringing the post-war theatre group Shakthi, which Pan started in Sri Lanka in 2008, to Geneva in September to perform as part of Act 2: The Power of Theatre Post Conflict.
If you would like to hear a first hand experience of Pan's work in Sri Lanka written by our General Manager please read on.

As well as the performances by Shakthi,  Pan will lead a week of workshops and skills sharing in Geneva with the Sri Lankan group and 12 other participants from war-torn zones around the world, before a day-long conference at the International Red Cross Centre, and performances on World Peace Day.

At the end of June 2010 Pan's Artistic Director,  John Martin, and General Manager, Ellie Stout, spent  a week in Sri Lanka where they caught up with the Shakthi group and worked with them on the performance which  they will present at the conference in Switzerland.  To hear about the experience first hand from Pan's General Manager please read the 'Sri Lankan log'.
